Roopa Unnikrishnan @ play

[ Articles | Pix ]

Roopa was an internationally ranked sports rifle shooter for many years, having picked up her first rifle at the age of 13 in India(her father was a police officer and her mom won a state pistol shooting championship while expecting Roopa).

Among her honors: a gold medal at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, a silver medal at the 1998 World Shooting Grand Prix in Atlanta and India's Arjuna Award, the equivalent of the country's sports hall of fame. She set the Commonwealth record in women's small-bore prone rifle and several Indian national and Oxford university records.

Nowadays, her twins and her work keep her so busy that the only non-work activity is her food blog, RoopaRecipes.blogspot.com.
