About Roopa Unnikrishnan

Roopa is a New York-based management strategist and organizational change expert. She is currently a VP at Pfizer, working on worldwide people and talent strategy. She has previously worked at Citibank's credit cards unit and was employee #6 at Katzenbach Partners, a strategy consultancy that is now part of Booz & Company (see full résumé).

A former world-class sports rifle shooter, she has won several international medals as well as India's Arjuna Award, the equivalent of the country's sports hall of fame.

She was chosen as India's 100th Rhodes Scholar in 1996 and went on to earn an Oxford Blue for captaining the university shooting squad.

She graduated in History from Women's Christian College in Madras; and has a Master's degree in History from Madras University; an M.Phil. in Economic History from Balliol College, Oxford; and an M.B.A. from Oxford.

She currently serves as a trustee of the Taraknath Das Foundation, which gives scholarships to needy students from India to study in the U.S. She has previously served as board chair of Sakhi for South Asian Women, a group that works to eliminate domestic violence in the South Asian community.

She lives in Manhattan with her husband, Sree Sreenivasan, a professor and dean at Columbia University's Graduate school of Journalism; and their twin children, Durga and Krishna.

Nowadays, her twins and her work keep her so busy that the only non-work activity is her food blog, RoopaRecipes.blogspot.com.
